Social Justice Brown Bag Program – Addressing Unconscious Bias in Neutral Selection with Homer La Rue

BLC is proud to host guest speaker Prof. Homer La Rue to lead an interactive discussion on how to address unconscious bias in the selection of neutrals. La Rue will present the  Ray Corollary Initiative as a plan of action to change the paradigm in ADR neutral selection. Participant questions and discussion will be encouraged for this free Zoom program on November 17th (12:30-2:00pm EST).

Homer C. La Rue is Professor of Law at Howard University School and is founder and co-director of the Howard University School of Law ADR Program. He is a labor and employment lawyer with 38 years of experience and is President-Elect of the National Academy of Arbitrators, the foremost membership organization in the U.S. and Canada for labor and employment lawyers.

Professor La Rue was awarded the 2020 D’Alemberte-Raven Award by the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution which is the highest individual award given by the Section for long and outstanding service to the ADR community. He is the co-founder of the Ray Corollary Initiative, Inc.™ (RCI™), devoted to the promotion of diversity in the selection of neutrals in ADR.
