In the last few years, more organizations and institutions have looked to bring an ombuds resource in-house. While mediators have many of the skills needed by ombuds, there are some important distinctions in roles. Join us for an informal conversation with mediator-turned-ombuds Esther Lin (Brandeis University) and Marcus Stergio (Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs). Currently serving in their first ombuds roles, Esther and Marcus can speak to the transition from mediating to serving as ombuds and share advice for aspiring ombuds. Newly trained ombuds Audrey Lee will facilitate Q&A – bring your questions!
