Law as a Spiritual Practice
March 24, 2025 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
FreeDavid Hoffman will lead a participatory discussion about the deeper dimensions of law practice. Can spiritual values be reconciled with the dictates of professional responsibility? Do lawyers have a duty to serve the totality of their clients’ interests, including those that are emotional or spiritual? Can serving others in the role of lawyer be spiritually rewarding? Please join us with your own ideas about these questions – all perspectives are welcome. The zoom link will be emailed to registrants the week of the workshop. Please register with your preferred email address as we will send the zoom link for this program to registered email addresses the week before the workshop.
One of the topics for discussion will be the connections between law and spirituality described in the following video interviews with Peter Gabel – please watch them before our meeting:
Interviews with J. Kim Wright (4 parts, totaling about 35 minutes)
And here’s a bonus video – an interview with Virginia Warren (about 35 minutes)
