Our Team

Tara Ollapally is a mediator whose practice spans India and the United States. She began her legal career as a human rights lawyer, later working in immigration and asylum law, before focusing her work on mediation and conflict resolution.

Since 2015, Tara has been closely involved in the development of India’s modern mediation landscape. She is the co-founder of CAMP Arbitration & Mediation Practice, one of India’s early private mediation institutions, and has helped develop initiatives that expand the use of mediation across legal, commercial, and community contexts.

Her practice includes family, inheritance, commercial, and workplace disputes, with a focus on culturally complex and cross-border matters, particularly those involving members of the Indian and Indian American communities. She also serves as a volunteer mediator for community mediation centres in the Greater Boston area.

Tara’s approach is facilitative and structured, helping parties slow down difficult conversations, clarify underlying interests, and reach durable, informed decisions.

In addition to her mediation practice, Tara trains lawyers and mediators and works with law firms, businesses, and in-house legal teams to strengthen their approach to conflict. She regularly designs and delivers mediator training programs for professionals in India in partnership with Edwards Mediation Academy. She is trained to teach the Understanding-Based Model of mediation developed by Gary Friedman, and works with law school professors in India and the United States to bring experiential approaches to mediation and negotiation into legal education in India.

Tara is licensed to practice law in New York and India. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband and three children. More information is available at taraollapally.com.
